Carter Derrick was born and raised in Asheboro, NC. He has thirteen years of experience at East Coast Lumber where he believes in their motto of building your own reputation. A hard-working family man, Carter strives every day to enhance the lives of his customers as the manager of ECL’s Wilmington wholesale and retail store. Instinctually Carter saw an opportunity to cut down on waste and fill a hole in the lumber market by selling quality products at an affordable price. This is how NC Lumber & Supply was born.

Carter has a degree in communication from UNCW, and currently resides in Wilmington, NC. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for eight years now and has been blessed with four children – Clay, Crew, Clara, and Essie. He also enjoys surfing, fishing, and is an avid sports fan.

Rob joined NC Lumber & Supply in 2014 after a lengthy career in Real Estate. He grew up in Western North Carolina and now lives and works Wilmington, NC, where NC Lumber has a sales office. Rob is still very excited to be working at NC Lumber & Supply after almost 3 years with the company and loves coming to work every day. Naturally when Carter presented the idea of selling their factory 2nds and various other grades of lumber at a discounted price Rob was all for it, and here they are three years later still passionate about what they do.

 When not selling lumber, Rob enjoys surfing, trail running, and hanging out with his three kids; Ben, Savannah and Kemsley.

George was born, raised, and lived in in Point Pleasant, NJ for forty years. He is no stranger to the industry. He began working for his father at a young age installing roofing, siding, and windows. He eventually took over his father's business and then became a personal contractor when moving to Mooresville, NC in 1992. He joined our coastal community in 2007 and has been a permanent fixture here at NC Lumber Supply since May of 2018. George Kutz has spent 50 years in the construction/lumber industry. He is a fountain of knowledge. the know-how he brings to our customers is vitally important. He is here everyday and even some Saturdays ready to discuss your project, help you tackle obstacles, and get you perfect product for your project. George is invaluable.

In his spare time he enjoys time with his grandchildren, boating and swimming, and watching sports.

Mallory was born and raised in Western North Carolina, in the Asheville area, and moved coastal in 2004 to attended UNCW where she received her degree in English Literature. Working in the restaurant industry she was able to save money to extensively travel abroad. Upon her return, she attended Cape Fear Community College and gained her Certification in Graphic Design. New to the lumber industry, but no stranger to customer service and marketing she is a perfect fit to assist the Wilmington office with their marketing, media, and coordinating needs.

When she isn't typing away, she enjoys time with her family, farming, going to the beach, cooking, yoga, and live music.

After attending UNCC and residing in Charlotte for a few years, Blake returned to Asheboro, NC where he was born and raised. He married his wonderful wife Lindsay and they have two beautiful daughters, Greer and Georgia.

When NC Lumber Supply Triad officially opened in July 2018, he had a fresh start in the lumber business after spending 11 years in the construction industry. He quickly learned that this is the business he wants to stay in for the rest of his life. He truly enjoys coming to work every day and can proudly stand by our products and offer a substantial cost savings to each customer.

 Billy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Communication Studies. He began his professional career in advertising sales with CBS Broadcasting; selling national advertising campaigns to CBS radio and television stations in Atlanta and New York. After 10 years in advertising sales Billy and his wife, Sarah, were ready to move back home and start their family. They have been married for 12 years and have 3 wonderful children Will, Tommy, and Callie. Billy has been in the lumber industry for 8 years. The doors opened to NC Lumber & Supply Triangle on Monday July 9th, 2018. When Billy is not working he enjoys spending time with his family and friends in Raleigh and at the beach. Much of his weekends are spent coaching his kids basketball and soccer teams.

Tom was raised in Bristol, TN. He came to Clemson. He and his family moved to the midlands of South Carolina in 2002.  He was pleased to help open SC Lumber and Supply in April of 2017. Tom really enjoys helping his customers turn a house into a home with a wide variety of affordable REAL wood options from heart pine floors to shiplap, v-joint, beaded ceiling, etc.

 He and his wife, Vicki have 2 children. In his spare time away from the warehouse, Tom enjoys volunteering at church, hunting, playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends.

 “I have the coolest job in the world! Whether I am working with a customer on a simple accent wall, an entire home or commercial project, our product line just fits!  Whether it is new construction or a remodel, it is so much fun to help these dreams come true! I know that handshake at the end of a deal is really just the beginning of years of enjoyment of their project!”

Kaleb Smiley was born and raised in Harlem, GA until his family moved to Lexington, SC in 2003 where he attended Lexington High School. Shortly after high school, he attended Arc Labs welding school where he became a certified welder. Kaleb now lives in Neeses, SC. He was excited to join SC Lumber in November of 2018 to start his career in the lumber business. He enjoys meeting and working with the customers to help make their dream projects a reality.

During his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, backpacking and playing pool with friends.

Dustin Hayes was born and raised in East Tennessee. He graduated Carson Newman College with a degree in Business Administration. He now lives in Rogersville, TN with his wife of 13 years and their five children Lofton, Hudson, Chapel, Mosley, and Cutler.

Dustin was chosen to open Tennessee Lumber & Supply in August of 2017. After developing a business relationship with Rob in the Wilmington location they both thought his outgoing personality and his authentic care for customers would be a perfect fit for this business, and they were right! He truly takes pleasure in helping customers purchase products they love.

“I spend time with each customer to assure their needs are met. From $10 orders to $10,000 orders each customer is treated with the same courtesy and respect. How you do anything, is how you do everything.”

When not enjoying the hustle and bustle at the lumber the yard, Dustin enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sporting events, and working on his rental properties.

Adam was raised in the small Eastern Tennessee town of Bean Station. He graduated from Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Morristown with a diploma in Graphic Design. While working in Design, Adam was presented with a new opportunity. He began his career in lumber April of 2019, when an old friend from high school offered him the chance to join the Tennessee Lumber & Supply team.

“We provide customers with a unique retail lumber experience that is second to none and a quality product that is cost-effective for any budget. I love the journey I take with customers from the initial meeting, to seeing pictures of their finished projects. I really enjoy connecting with people through the process. I am thankful for the opportunity to chase the “American Dream” as a member of this team. I can't express my gratitude enough. These guys have trusted me to add value to their company. I can honestly say I look forward to coming into work every morning. As a matter of fact, as of writing this I just returned from a small trip. I was thinking, this is the first time in my life I didn't dread returning to work.”

When not at the lumber yard, Adam enjoying spending time with his wife Brittney Green, their fur babies and friends. Adam loves good food, cold beverages and college football.
